Finished Projects

I'm not fond of this one but it will serve its purpose right?
Curly Purly waistband with Sheepy Time Knits body. I crocheted the legs since it's faster :)
Yay 3 dresses complete. I tried both of Alyssa's on and this first one has a bit of a funny fit on her (could be my sewing skills...) and the second is a bit large and needs some ribbon or icord to tie it back. It keeps falling off of her shoulders. I have never gathered fabric before so I used my least favorite prints first. I still need to try Kailey's on though. Oh and I made a few changes to the pattern like making the top of the ribcage strap in garter so it doesn't roll and changed the decreases at the bodice to k1, ssk, knit til last 3, k2tog, k1, so it wasn't rolled over and rough. I had to iron them to get it flat enough to sew as it was!

An update to this post:
These turned out to be big for both girls and I did not sew ribbon to the straps. I squeezed the button at the waist through the knitting to tighten this up for Alyssa the one time she has worn it so far. I will probably have to do the same for Kailey.
Update: This one fits Alyssa big also so I added ribbon, located on each side, in the last knit row before the fabric by inserting through the stitches and tying a knot. The shoulders straps tend to fall off but I did use a larger gauge yarn and the 12m size numbers so I didn't expect it to be exactly right. I'm pretty sure I added the 4 sts under each arm as suggested also.


I still have 2 dresses going and 2 sheepy pants.

Even though my camera needs charged, and my flickr is pretty much full I decided I had to shares these. The one with all the different choices of yarn for the top is my favorite.. it was very hard not to ask for 5 yards of it lol.



Can you tell I love purple and shades of teal? I really do lean towards cool colors.. other than pink.

Katrina Soaker Tutorial

Ok this is for you Katidids, well others too! The pattern I am using is Katrina's Fleece soaker found here. If you are going to buy fleece to make this then look for one with a print that is to scale of the object you are making and can face any direction. What I have used was given to me and all I had. GL!

Get your kids settled. One is asleep, one is at PreK for a few hours and... one is here.

Print and cut out your pieces. The one on the left is something different, disregard please.


By this time his snack is gone and you need another distraction. :)

Sew on the extra wet zone layer to the main body on the inside.
Turn your pieces inside out and sew edges together like so...

Take your cuffs and fold in half with the right side out.

Have a snack yourself oops it wouldn't open!

With your body piece still inside out, place your leg cuff inside and align all 3 selvage edges and sew around stretching the cuff (that is on the inside) because it is smaller and needs to be to contain messes. I have shown it not align so you could tell how to do it)

Do this for both leg cuffs and the waistband.

Now you should have this...

And here is the front and back on my daughter Kailey. She was asleep so I didn't get to measure and this barely fits. Oops. So next time will have to be a Medium. She is currently 11lbs 14oz and 4m old if anyone needs a reference.



I realized after I did the waistband that the seam is in the front. Watch out where your seams go! I hope this helps some one!

Babylegs and new fluff

I saw them on sale recently but still couldn't bring my frugal self to pay $6 for a pair.. so I finally bought some knee highs and this is the result. BTW I'm making up for lost time on posting *big grin*




DH also finally agreed on some new fluff since the pockets kept leaking and I've wanted to only use wool anyways! :D


Alyssa kept rubbing it on her face and saying they were hers lol
