We went to the Dr. yet again for Ty. The antibiotics did help last time but a few days afterwards he started smelling awful again. So, I called the Dr made yet another apt and asked my husband to call in to work and go with me... It isn't exactly easy carrying 3 kids 3 and under to the Dr when you wait around a lot then wait in a tiny room after that. What is even worse about this story is that we the parents were the ones to discover what was wrong and not his doctor.....
Last night we looked in his nose to discover something blocking one nostril. We told the pediatrician and he took one glance up his nose (after waiting an hour in the tiny room) and then said yup he needs the ENT (Ear Nose and Throat) doctor. Our apt was at 11:45 and here it was 10 til 1. We get to the ENT office a few building over (thank goodness they had one too since we were at a hospital) and waited a bit more.
I walked in the room and saw this daunting chair and said "I'm not getting in that thing". Well guess what, He walks in and asks me to sit down with Ty in my lap. LOL. I had to hold Ty's arms down and wrap my legs around his while an assistant held his head still.. We almost thought he would have to be sedated and go to the OR but thanfully after 10 mins, a mom, two ENT Dr's and a nurse... we got it out. Guess what was in his nose...
A piece of a foam ball the size of a marble.. and behind that was cotton... It was gross and my husband enjoyed it, and so did the whole office because heard his screams. We walked out with several stares but a MUCH better smelling son. He got his sucker he kept screaming for too!
Of course we are now on antibiotics again though...

That's wasn't in there for 2 months, was it?
I knew it! I almost told you to check that but thought the drs would have! My son did that same thing one easter, stuck a chunk of ham up his nose, 3-5 days later he stunk like death! Someday....you will think this is funny!
Tina, yes unfortunately I think it may have been and their Dr. missed it on 2 visits!
Katidids, my daughter has recently stuck playdough up her nose but I'm pretty sure we got it all out.. at least it smells that way :) I'm just glad to have a less fussy boy back that will actually eat something now.
My grandson was spending his summer week with me a couple of years ago. He stank to high heaven and my husband and I kept telling him to go brush his teeth. Finally one day while my daughter and I were out picking strawberries together, I mentioned to her how badly he smelled. He finally admitted to getting something stuck up his nose, I do not remember what it was, but it was up there. She did not have time to take him so she called and made and appointment and I took him since he was still staying with me. Needless to say he smelled much better once we left the Doctors office!!
By the way, I found you doing my afternoon blog surfing through Katidids.
gramma 2 many "Go brush your teeth" was what my mom said to him LOL
